WRX Conversion
My car stated it’s
life as a 1996 Impreza Brighton, a Plain Jane Impreza with an EJ18, AWD 5 speed
tranny, basic interior and no tachometer.
Here is a picture of a 96
Impreza, not a Brighton, probably a LS, but you can
get an idea of what it looked like.
I purchased my car as a rebuildable wreck, here are some pictures.
After I got it home, I started
taking stuff off, first off came the front bumper beam
Then I stared cutting out all the
bent and damaged pieces.
The silver strut tower bar was
used as a tool since it was rigid and would show me when I had pulled the left
strut tower back into place.
Here is a shot of how far off the
left strut tower was.
Here are some pictures of the 96
WRX front clip that I used.
I didn’t take many pictures
during the reconstruction so that part is missing,
here is the finished installed engine.
And here is the car before I put
the WRX body parts on.
And here it is completed or at
least 98% completed, still a few little things that need to be done.
